1. Sending a request to ELI
To use ELI, Scoro's AI-powered assistant, click the ELI assistant icon on your site's menu bar and enter your prompt in natural language.
Some notes on how the ELI assistant works on your requests:
-
ELI can also take actions on your behalf.
From drafting detailed quotes and price proposals to managing your calendar events and time off and resource bookings, ELI can handle a wide variety of tasks, freeing up your time so you can focus on meaningful work. You'll find examples of what ELI can do in our ELI use case and prompt examples article. -
ELI can help you understand Scoro.
ELI assistant is connected to Scoro’s Help Center, so it knows everything there and can help you with simple Scoro-related questions. -
ELI takes the current view you've opened into context.
You can, of course, ask ELI questions about a specific item (task, project, quote, etc.) even if you haven't opened it on your screen. -
ELI can only do what the user instructing it has permission to do.
For example, if you don't have access to certain tasks, ELI won't be able to modify them if you request it. -
ELI will do only what you've instructed it to do in your prompt.
ELI can also suggest follow-up actions, but it will not proceed with them on its own – it always asks for your confirmation on how to proceed. For requests involving larger amounts of data, ELI can ask you clarifying questions to confirm the intended action or to narrow its scope.
1.1. Stopping your request to ELI
Accidentally hit Enter before finishing your request for ELI? No worries – simply click the stop icon next to the prompt field, and ELI will stop working on your request.
Note! Canceling your request to ELI doesn't give back the credits used for that request.
2. ELI notifications about unread conversations
There's no need to keep the ELI chat window open while ELI's working on your request – you can close it, and ELI will continue working on it in the background. When it finishes working, you'll see a notification indicator on ELI's icon with the number of unread responses, so you know when you can check the response. All unread conversations are marked with a purple notification indicator.
3. Adjusting the ELI chat window
To resize the chat window, click and drag the bottom-right corner of the chat window to the necessary size.
To move the chat window to a different place on your screen, drag it by the chat title bar to the desired position.
On the right side of the chat title (next to the X button), you'll find more controls for adjusting the chat window:
- Pin it to the right side of the screen by clicking the right-pointing arrow icon.
- Minimize it by clicking the downward-pointing arrow icon at the top-right corner of the window (next to the X button). Alternatively, press the Esc key to minimize the chat window. To expand the chat window again, click on the chat title.
4. Managing your ELI threads
4.1. Viewing and searching threads
All your conversations with ELI are listed on the left sidebar. Click the sidebar button on the chat title bar to hide or show the sidebar.
Click the thread title in the sidebar of the ELI chat window to open that thread. Use the search bar to look up a conversation by keywords.
While you're viewing a past conversation, you can click the plus icon at the top-left corner of the chat window to start a new one.
4.2. Sorting, filtering, and marking threads as read
Click the three-dot icon next to the search bar in ELI chat window's sidebar to see more options for managing your past threads:
- Mark all threads as read – clear the unread status on every conversation at once.
- Sorting options – order the list by recent activity, date created, or alphabetically. The recent-activity and date-created views group conversations into Today, This week, This month, and Earlier; the alphabetical view groups by first letter.
- Filtering options – filter the list down to unread only.
4.3. Archiving and restoring threads
By default, all past threads in the ELI chat window are archived after 1 month, but site administrators can choose a different period or switch off the automatic archiving completely. Learn more about it in the Getting started with ELI assistant article.
To archive a conversation manually, open it in the sidebar and click Archive thread at the top of the chat window.
To view archived conversations, click Archive at the bottom of the sidebar.
To restore a thread from the archive, click Unarchive thread at the top of the chat window to restore a conversation to your active list.
To go from the archive view back to your active conversations, click the Back to active threads button at the bottom of the sidebar.
5. Automated triggers for ELI via triggers and actions
Beyond chatting with ELI directly, you can also set ELI to run as an action in your triggers and actions rules.
For example, you could create a rule that when a project is put on hold, ELI should automatically change the status of all uncompleted tasks under that project to ‘On hold’ and notify the task assignees about it.
Learn how to set this up in our Triggers and actions article.
