Meet ELI assistant – your AI-powered work assistant within Scoro! While many AI tools require you to manually feed them data, ELI is built directly into your Scoro site. It understands your budgets, sees your pipeline, and recognizes your resource capacity because it is rooted in your actual operational data.
ELI can pull data, surface insights, and actually do things for you: create tasks, schedule meetings, log time, manage time off, notify site users, add comments, and more. Just tell it what you need in plain language – just as you would message a colleague!
This article will walk you through what the ELI assistant can do for you and your team, how to manage its settings on your site, how to manage your ELI credits, permissions, and more.

1. Managing ELI assistant settings and permissions
The ELI assistant is enabled by default on all Scoro sites and includes a free credit allowance on every plan. Site administrators can enable or disable ELI features at any time in site settings under Settings > Administration > ELI settings.
You can manage your team's access to ELI by enabling or disabling the ELI permission for the relevant permission sets.
Note! The things ELI can do are limited to what the user instructing ELI has permission to do. For example, if you don't have access to certain tasks, you won't be able to ask ELI to modify them.
2. Using the ELI assistant
To use the ELI assistant, click the ELI assistant icon on your site’s menu bar and simply enter your prompt in natural language.
The things ELI can do are limited to what the user instructing ELI has permission to do. For example, if you don't have access to certain tasks, you won't be able to ask ELI to modify them.
ELI will do only what you've instructed it to do in your prompt. ELI can also suggest follow-up actions, but it will not proceed with them on its own – it always asks for your confirmation on how to proceed. For requests involving larger amounts of data, ELI can ask you clarifying questions to confirm the intended action or to narrow its scope.
Keep the ELI assistant active while you navigate through different views in Scoro; it takes the current view you’ve opened in context.
Accidentally hit enter before finishing your prompt? No worries – simply click the stop icon next to the prompt field, and ELI will stop working on your request.
You can also adjust the ELI chat window as needed:
- Move it by clicking the chat title bar and dragging it to the desired position on your screen.
- Resize it by clicking and dragging the bottom-right corner of the chat window to the necessary size.
- Minimize it by clicking the downward-pointing arrow icon at the top-right corner of the window (next to the X button). Click on the chat title to expand the chat window again.
To view your chat history, click on the icon at the top-left corner of the chat window and select the chat to view it. You can also search for your chats by keywords. ELI will store your chat history for 3 months.
3. What can the ELI assistant do
ELI can handle a wide range of tasks across project management, business operations, and everyday administration – these are just a few of the many, many things ELI can help you with:
- Project diagnostics: Instantly review project health, evaluate budgets, and pinpoint bottlenecked tasks.
- Calendar management: Create, move, and reschedule events with confidence, without worrying about double bookings.
- Booking management: Book resources for your projects, identify resource availability, solve over-utilization issues, split assignments, and reallocate bookings in bulk.
- Time-off management: Request new time off or modify existing time off (adjust vacation days/hours, change time-off type, or cancel time off). ELI automatically verifies whether there are any conflicts with existing time off before adding requests.
- Quoting & estimating: Draft quotes from client emails, match line items to products and price lists, or generate new quotes based on past projects.
- Information processing: Drop in a project brief (like a PDF) or ask questions about the specific page you are currently viewing to get instant, tailored summaries without hunting through tabs.

4. Using ELI actions in various Scoro views
Scoro’s ELI assistant doesn’t just live within the chat window – you’ll also find ELI actions in various Scoro modules and views, letting you quickly get straight to the essential insights with just a single click:
-
Project view: Use the Analyze project health button to automatically analyze the project data to proactively identify potential risks and mitigation strategies, helping project managers stay ahead of delays, budget overruns, and other delivery threats.
-
Bookings module: Use the Balance bookings button to evaluate and redistribute your team’s workload in the current or upcoming month to ensure no team members sit idle or work unintended overtime.
ELI actions use credits the same way as prompts in the ELI chat window.
ELI action buttons are visible only to users with the ELI assistant permission enabled in their permission set. Learn more about ELI permissions in the Managing ELI assistant permissions section of this article.
5. ELI credits and pricing
Each request you make to ELI consumes credits based on the task's complexity.
As a rule of thumb, 1 request ≈ 10 credits. The specific cost depends on the complexity:
- Light request (e.g., look up a metric or answer a quick question) ≈ 5 credits
- Standard request (e.g., filter a list, compare periods, surface insights) ≈ 10 credits
- Complex request (e.g., generate a report, run a multi-step analysis) ≈ 20 credits
Every Scoro plan includes a monthly allowance of free ELI credits. Credits are allocated per seat, per month, but they are pooled at the site level. This means if one team member uses fewer credits, another can use more.
-
Current plans:
- Core: 60 credits/seat/month
- Growth: 80 credits/seat/month
- Performance: 140 credits/seat/month
- Enterprise: 150 credits/seat/month
-
Legacy plans:
- Essential: 60 credits/seat/month
- Standard: 80 credits/seat/month
- Pro: 140 credits/seat/month
- Ultimate: 150 credits/seat/month
Note!
- Credits reset at the start of every month. Unused credits do not roll over to the next month.
- You can continue to ask any Scoro-related questions directly to the ELI assistant – even when you’ve used up your credits.
Site admins can track the ELI assistant credit usage under Settings > Administration > ELI settings.
5.1. Credit usage
The Usage tab in the ELI settings page lets you quickly review how actively your team uses ELI:
- The Daily credit usage section shows a bar chart with the total amount of credits used each day. Navigate the timeline by using the Previous, Current, and Next buttons above the chart, and hover over the blue bars to see the number of credits used on that day.
- The Usage by user section lists all users who used ELI in the selected month, along with the amount of credits they've used and their percentage of your team's total. You can sort the list by any of the data columns.
5.2. Purchasing additional credits
If your team requires more than the monthly ELI credit allowance, your site administrator can purchase additional credits as add-ons:
- Go to Settings > Administration > Plan, add-ons and billing, scroll down to the Add-ons section, and click the Manage add-ons button.
- Search for 'credits for ELI' and enable the toggle for the 2,000 or 5,000 additional credit add-on, whichever amount you need.
- Click Confirm, and save the changes. The charge for the purchased add-on will automatically be added to your next invoice.
Add-ons can be added or removed at any time.

6. Privacy and data protection
ELI only accesses the data you have permission to see within Scoro. Your data is used solely to provide insights and perform actions within your own site; it is not used to train global AI models for other customers.
