1. What is the Scoro Time mobile app?
The Scoro Time mobile app, available on the Apple App Store (iOS) and the Google Play Store (Android), is an independent, single-purpose application focusing exclusively on personal task-level time logging and utilization. It is tailored for individual contributors who need a fast, distraction-free way to log timesheets and track hours.
Here are the main benefits of using the Scoro Time mobile app:
- Simplified, task-focused interface. Focus exclusively on your own hours without the noise of complex dashboards. By omitting project lists, comments, and calendar boards, the app provides a highly optimized, distraction-free environment tailored for fast, daily timesheet management.
- Supports offline work. Thanks to the app's local caching system, losing your network connection while working will not affect your app's functionality, as your manual timesheet entries, running background timers, and task status updates are securely cached directly on your device. Once your phone detects a stable internet connection, the app automatically triggers a background synchronization, pushing all your offline logs directly to your Scoro site.
- Running timer reminders. If you start a tracking timer and later leave the immediate area – moving approximately 100 meters away from where the timer was initiated – the app automatically pushes a notification to your phone, so you can either pause the timer or finalize logging your completed hours.
- Taking over the desktop time tracker in the app. An active time tracker started in the desktop app will appear in your mobile app, where you can take over the tracking.
1.1. Plan availability
The Scoro Time mobile app is a free app available to anyone with an active user account on a Scoro site. Anyone can download, log in to their Scoro site, and start using it on iOS or Android devices without any plan restrictions, tier exclusions, or prior administrator setup.
1.2. When to use it?
The Scoro Time mobile app is best used as an active companion tool to your Scoro desktop experience. Keep your phone on your desk to quickly start or stop timers as you work, or pull it out during your daily commute to fill in your timesheet retrospectively. This app is highly optimized for:
- Individual contributors who do not need full project or calendar management but want a quick way to log their worked hours.
- On-the-go teams who are frequently away from their computers and need to log travel or field hours.
- End-of-day logging for users who prefer to review their assigned tasks and quickly enter their daily hours at the end of the day.
1.3. Where to get it?
You can download the Scoro Time mobile app onto your mobile device from the Apple App Store (iOS) and the Google Play Store (Android). Once installed, you can immediately log in using your standard Scoro site credentials or your organization's Single Sign-On (SSO) configuration. From there, you can view your prioritized task list, start active timers, or log hours retrospectively on previous days.

1.4. Known limitations and things to remember
Here are the key things to remember about the Scoro Time mobile app:
- No task creation in the mobile app: You cannot create new tasks directly in the mobile app. You can only track and log time against tasks that already exist in your Scoro site database.
- Limited task metadata: The app does not display task comments, and you cannot write or reply to them via the app. Detailed task descriptions, custom fields, and status-management workflows are also not available in this mobile app.
- No calendar event management: Although scheduled meetings and focus periods in which you’re a participant count toward your daily utilization metrics, you cannot view, add, or edit calendar events in this app.
- Including weekends in the workweek: This can be managed only in the mobile app’s settings. The site-wide weekend inclusion setting does not impact the mobile app at the moment.

3. Using the Scoro Time mobile app
Once you’ve logged in to the Scoro Time mobile app, you’ll be redirected to the main page, which consists of the following:
-
Calendar timeline – a swipable timeline for selecting the date to log the time for.
- You can choose whether to include weekend dates in the app’s settings. This preference applies only to the mobile app; The Include weekend in workweek setting in the Scoro web app under Settings > Work and projects > Projects does not impact the mobile app’s behavior.
- The calendar timeline displays the time-off entry icons on dates with zero availability.
- The tasks section right below the calendar consists of a task search bar and a list of tasks assigned to you.
- The task list suggests the tasks on your Scoro site that are assigned to you and whose timelines fall on the selected date, as well as tasks assigned to you without start and due dates specified.
- To narrow down the tasks shown in the task list, use the task status and priority filters in the app’s settings.
- The user avatar at the top-right corner of the screen lets you access the app’s settings or log out of your account.
- The utilization indicator on the right of the user avatar indicates your utilization for today, so you can quickly check whether you have remaining capacity for additional work.
- The daily utilization indicator accounts for time off and extra availability. If today’s date has an all-day time-off entry, the indicator will display the time-off icon. Partial-day time-off entries and extra availability decrease or increase your availability for that day accordingly.
- Tapping on the percentage indicator quickly navigates you to the current date in the timeline.
- Work logged on personal tasks does not count towards your daily utilization in the mobile app.
Here are the main actions you can do within the Scoro Time mobile app:
- Logging and tracking time on tasks
- Modifying the logged time entries
- Taking over an active desktop time tracker
Note! Pull down the screen to refresh the app’s timeline and task list.
3.1. Logging and tracking time on tasks
To log time in the Scoro Time mobile app:
-
Select the date you want to log time for:
- Before logging time for your tasks, select the date you want to log by tapping it. Tap the percentage indicator in the top-right corner of the screen to quickly navigate to the current date on the timeline.
- You can log time for past and current dates. While the app lets you select a future date, any time logged for that date will be recorded as today’s date.
-
Select the task:
- If you can’t locate a task or the task list is long, use the search bar to quickly find the task you’re looking for.
- Once you’ve found the task you want to log time for, tap on it.
-
Log time in either of these two ways:
-
By adding a manual time entry – select Log time to add a manual time entry, just like you would normally do on Scoro’s desktop app.
- Adjust the hour and minute sliders to set the required time.
- You can also tap the lightning button to specify the time entry’s activity type and tap the speech balloon button to add a description for the time entry. If your site uses billable time and you’re logging time on a billable task, you can choose whether the time entry is billable or not.
- Lastly, tap the large checkmark button to finish adding the time entry.
-
Via the time tracker – select Start tracker to start the timer for the task.
- When you start the time tracker for the first time, Scoro may ask you for permission to send you notifications.
- Just like with manual time entries, you can also tap the lightning button to specify the time entry’s activity type and tap the speech balloon button to add a description for the time entry. If your site uses billable time and you’re logging time on a billable task, you can choose whether the time entry is billable or not.
- While the timer is running, you can adjust the slider to quickly set the necessary amount of time.
- To pause the time tracker, tap the pause button on the bottom slider. A paused time tracker entry is saved on the task but not marked as done.
- To finish the time tracker entry, slide the bottom slider to the right. If you want to cancel and discard the time tracker entry, tap the X button at the top-left corner twice.
-
By adding a manual time entry – select Log time to add a manual time entry, just like you would normally do on Scoro’s desktop app.
3.2. Modifying the logged time entries
The tasks that you’ve logged time for will display green time values. To modify a time entry in the Scoro Time mobile app:
- Tap on the task to uncover all its time entries.
- To mark the uncompleted (scheduled) time entries, tap the Mark done button on them.
- To modify more time entry details, swipe the time entry you want to modify to the right.
- Make the necessary changes – adjust the time as needed, add or change the activity type, add or modify the description of the time entry – and tap the checkmark button to save the changes. Saving changes made to an uncompleted (scheduled) time entry will mark it as done.
To delete the time entry, tap the time entry, set the hour and minute sliders to 0, then tap the delete button (trash can icon).
3.3. Taking over an active desktop time tracker
If you have started a time tracker in Scoro’s desktop app, it will appear in the Scoro Time mobile app as well. A time tracker running on a task will show the Take over tracking button, which lets you continue that tracker on your mobile device in case you need to be on the move.
Note! Discarding the time tracker you took over from the desktop to the mobile app will discard the time you tracked on the mobile app, but the time tracked on the desktop app will be saved, but not marked as done.
4. Managing the Scoro Time mobile app settings
To manage your Scoro Time mobile app’s settings, tap on your user avatar and select Settings:
-
Including weekend in the workweek:
- The Chart period section lets you choose whether to include only the workweek (Monday to Friday) or full-week dates (Monday to Sunday) in your app’s calendar timeline. Note that this is just a preference within the Scoro Time mobile app; the Include weekend in workweek setting in the Scoro web app under Settings > Work and projects > Projects does not affect this mobile app’s behavior.
-
Managing statuses and priorities:
- Select the statuses and priorities in the Task filtering section to specify what tasks the app should show in the daily task list and the search results.
- Note that tasks with time entries added from the mobile app will still be shown in the task list, even if they don’t match the statuses and priorities you’ve filtered in the app’s settings.
-
Default duration for manual logging:
- Similar to the web app’s personal settings, in the Default duration section, you can set the default duration that’s always applied when logging time manually from the mobile app. This is just the default preference; you can always adjust the hour and minute sliders to set the necessary duration for your time entry.
-
Minute increments:
- The Minute increments section controls the manual time entry minute slider and lets you set the minute increments to 1 min, 5 min, or 15 min.
5. Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
Why doesn’t the Scoro Time mobile app notify me about a running time tracker?
Your mobile device shows a notification (on Android) or a live activity (on iOS) when an active timer is running in the Scoro Time mobile app, and you can tap the notification or live activity to open the app. If you don’t see that notification or live activity on your device, please check the Scoro Time app permissions in your phone settings (not the mobile app settings) and ensure the permission to send notifications is enabled.
