Instead of adding repeated tasks manually, you can save time by creating recurring tasks.
This article explains how recurring tasks in Scoro work, how to create them, and everything else you need to know about them.

1. How do recurring tasks work?
When you create a recurring task, each task is automatically added to the task list of the doer (you or any of your team members) in the early morning hours of the task start date.
For example: You create a recurring task that you need to take care of each week on Mondays. The next task will be created and appear on your task list early Monday morning.
2. Creating a recurring task
To create a recurring task:
- Go to Tasks > Recurring tasks.
- Click the + New button.
- Similar to how you would create a regular task, fill out the details for your recurring task:
- Planned duration - enter the planned hours for the task.
- Billable time - if time-billing is enabled on your site, enter the billable hours.
-
Time frame - set your preferred interval for each task's start and due dates:
- To set the same day for the start and due date, enter 0 in the Start and Due fields.
- To set the due date to the day after the start date, enter 1 in the Due field.
- If you want the task to start on Monday and have Wednesday as the due date, enter 2 in the Due field.
- Repeating - set the necessary occurrence.
- From - set the date from which to start creating the individual tasks.
-
Until - pick a date until which to create the tasks. Alternatively, select indefinite if you don't want to set a date after which to stop creating the tasks.
- Select who is responsible for the task and who the tasks will be assigned to.
- If needed, you can link the task to a company, contact person, or a project.
- The Active checkbox is ticked by default, meaning that the tasks are created immediately after the recurring task is created. Untick this checkbox if you want to activate your recurring task later.
- Click Save to create the recurring task.
3. Viewing and modifying recurring tasks
You can sort the list of recurring tasks using filters like in many other views in Scoro. For example, you can filter the recurring tasks for specific users, contacts, and more.
You can tick the recurring tasks in the list to perform certain actions in bulk, such as assigning the task to another user, linking it with a project, and others.
To modify or delete a recurring task, click on the task title and make the necessary changes.
If you want to stop using a recurring task, you can deactivate it by modifying the task and unticking the Active checkbox.
Frequently asked questions
Does the utilization report include recurring tasks?
The utilization report includes only the tasks (occurrences) that are already added to the users' task lists. This means that all upcoming tasks created from recurring tasks aren't included in the utilization report, as they don't exist as tasks yet and will be created only on the day of occurrence.
