1. Manual task creation (from scratch)
1.1. From the site menu
The easiest way to create a new task, accessible from any view, is via the site menu:
- Click the Quick actions (+) button on the right side of your site's menu.
- Select New task.
1.2. From the task list
To create a new task from the task list, simply click the + New button.
1.3. From the contact list
You can add a new task for a single contact or multiple contacts at once:
- To add a task for a single contact, click the plus icon to the right of the contact's name and select New task.
- To create the same task for multiple contacts (people or companies) at once, tick the checkboxes on the left side of each contact. The additional action bar will appear, and you can click the New task button.
1.4. From the project task list
You can also create a new task from the project task list. Here, you have two ways to do it:
- If you want to fill out the full task details right away, click the Add task button on the right side of the screen. This will open the task modify view, where you can fill out the task details.
- To quickly add a task without specifying the full details, click the Add task button, enter the task title, and press the Enter key. This will save the task right away, letting you quickly add multiple tasks one after another, and you can specify their details later.
Regardless of which manual way of adding a new task you’re using, you will be redirected to the task modify view, where you can fill out your task details.
2. Automated task creation
To speed up and simplify your task creation workflows, you can also generate tasks automatically:
- From a quote: Turn quoted services into tasks to ensure your team delivers exactly what was sold. If your site uses subtasks, tasks created during the quote-to-task flow are parent tasks that you can later break down further with subtasks. Learn more about creating tasks from a quote.
- Using task bundles: Use task bundles with pre-defined sets of tasks (with dependencies and durations) into a project or contact with just a few clicks. Learn more about task bundles.
- Recurring tasks: Set tasks to repeat automatically on a schedule. Learn more about recurring tasks.
