1. Creating a new quote template
There are three ways how you can create a quote template:
-
Option 1 - from the quote template view:
- Go to Quotes > Quote templates
- Click +New
-
Option 2 - when creating a new quote:
- Tick the option Save as a template
- Name your quote template
-
Option 3 - from an existing quote:
- Open an existing quote you wish to use as a basis for your quote template
- Click Duplicate
This will take you to the quote modify view, which will already be pre-filled with data from the quote you're duplicating. - Tick the Save as a template checkbox
- Name your quote template.
2. Viewing and modifying quote templates
You'll find all your quote templates in the list under Quotes > Quote templates. Click on a template to modify or delete it.
3. Enabling dynamic rates in a quote template
You can tick the Keep rates in sync with the system checkbox if you'd like any new quotes generated from a quote template to automatically pull the latest unit prices and labor costs from the system. Using dynamic pricing on quote templates helps reduce admin work, as you won't need to manually update the rates on your templates whenever pricing changes.
This checkbox is enabled by default when creating a new quote template; if you prefer to lock in unit prices and labor costs for a template, simply untick the checkbox.
4. Creating a new quote from a quote template
When compiling a new quote, simply select the quote template from the drop-down list at the top-right corner of the screen, and all the information will be filled out automatically. You can modify the quote details as needed.
