To sync prepayments between Scoro and Xero:
- Create a prepayment in Scoro – open the Invoices module > Prepayment invoices tab and click the + New button.
- Then, create a prepayment in Xero.
- When the payment is received (as shown on a bank statement in Xero), the accountant or any other responsible person must create a prepayment object in Xero:
- Go to Accounting > Bank Accounts > Manage Accounts > New > Receive Money.
- In the Received as dropdown field, select 'Prepayment'.
- Enter the Scoro prepayment invoice number in the Reference field so Scoro can successfully match and import the payment. Save the changes.
- Go to Accounting > Bank Accounts > Manage Accounts > New > Receive Money.
Once saved, the payment will be synced under the prepayment invoice in Scoro. Numbers and currencies must match for this to happen.
There are two ways to use prepayments:
-
When using regular prepayment – creating an invoice from prepayment and allocating it in Scoro:
- An invoice is made of that synced prepayment
- The prepayment sum is used on that invoice
- Sync will automatically use this prepayment also in Xero
- An invoice is made of that synced prepayment
-
When using prepayment as project-based – using prepayment as project budget and allocating it to different invoices in Xero:
- The invoice is created in Scoro and synced to Xero.
