If you wish to enable labor cost calculation for employees, go to Settings > Work and projects > Labor cost to activate the feature.
Labor cost is calculated automatically based on completed activities and taken into account, for example, when calculating project costs, etc. The rate are also displayed under the 'Past activities' log in the client and project views.
Just click on the name of each team member to set up or modify their labor cost.
In addition to setting up a personal labor cost for each of your team members, you can set up role-level labor cost. This is the fallback option, meaning if you haven’t set an individual labor cost for a team member, Scoro will use the role-level labor cost as the default one for all cost calculations.
For example, let’s say you’ve set the labor rate for Designers at 80 EUR/h. Jane is a Designer. Here's how the cost calculation will work:
- If you do not set an individual labor cost for Jane, the hours she logs are multiplied by 80 EUR (= role-level labor cost).
- If you set Jane’s individual labor cost to 70 EUR/h, the hours she logs are multiplied by 70 EUR (= user-based labor cost).
The Default labor cost is the last fallback – this one is used only if there is no individual or role-level labor cost defined.
The labor cost is displayed and calculated according to the Base currency of your site. If you're using multiple entities, the labor cost will be calculated according to the Base currency. For more on the currencies, please read our article about Currencies.
