In Scoro, you can easily turn the services you've quoted into actionable tasks for your team. This way, you're ensuring the time and financial budget details between your quote and tasks are linked.
Typically, you would create tasks from a quote after creating a project out of a quote, but you can do it even if you haven't created a project from the quote or linked a project to the quote.
Creating tasks from a quote
To turn your quoted services into tasks:
-
Access the task creation screen from the quote or the project detailed view:
- If you've already created a project from the quote and are currently in the project detailed view, open the Task list tab and click the Create tasks button on the banner or the Create tasks from quote button at the bottom of the screen.
Alternatively, you can open the detailed view of the quote and click the Create tasks button. - If you want to create tasks from a quote without creating a project, simply open the quote detailed view, click the Create from quote... button, and select Create tasks. You can always modify the tasks later to link them to a project.
- If you've already created a project from the quote and are currently in the project detailed view, open the Task list tab and click the Create tasks button on the banner or the Create tasks from quote button at the bottom of the screen.
-
Configure the tasks:
You'll be redirected to the task creation screen, where you'll see the quoted services and the tasks that Scoro automatically created based on the quoted in-house services. You can choose whether you want to create a task for the outsourced services as well.-
Task types and planned duration of tasks:
- If your site uses the Without subtasks work planning option or Mixed mode, the tasks created here are parent tasks. They won't have any hours in the Planned column because the planned time will roll up as you'll add subtasks later.
In the Mixed mode, you also have the option to switch to using the quoted hours as the tasks' planned hours by clicking the Actions button and selecting Set quoted hours as planned duration. - If your site uses the Without subtasks work planning option, the tasks created here are regular tasks with the quoted hours used as the planned hours.

-
Task title and description:
- By default, the tasks are named after the quoted services, but you can click on the task names and rename them as needed.
- Add or change the description of the task, if needed.
-
Assignees:
- Scoro automatically adds users and roles (if role assignment is enabled on your site) from the quoted services as task assignees. If you're not using role assignment, the task initially will not have an assignee. If you assigned multiple roles and users via the quote estimation matrix, they'll be automatically added as assignees accordingly.
For tasks without any assignees, click the Unassigned icon to assign the task to a user or role.
For tasks with assignees, you can click on either user's avatar to assign additional users or reassign the task to someone else.
To replace the assigned role with an actual user, click on the role avatar, select the user with that role, and click Assign.

Linking with existing tasks, adding tasks from a bundle, and other options:
The button with three dots on each task line provides another three options:- Link with existing task – you can link the quote line with an already existing task related to the same project. Just click this option and select the relevant task.
- Create new task – another task is created and linked to this quote line. The new task uses your preferred task duration by default, which is added to the original duration of the service taken from the quote (not included in the initial duration).
-
Add tasks from bundle – link this quote line to a previously created task bundle. This is handy in case the offered service includes multiple standard steps that you do each time with similar projects.

Finalize the task creation:
If everything looks like it should, just click Create tasks to finish creating your tasks.
The tasks created from a quote will appear:
- in the project detailed view in the Task list tab
- in the contact detailed view
- in the quote detailed view under the Planned activities section
- in the task list of the team members the tasks were delegated to (if any of the tasks were left unassigned, you can just filter them out from the task list os view and assign them from the specific project view)
Additionally, you can later go back and make changes to the tasks linked to the quote lines, unlink them, or add more tasks if needed. To do this, go to the quote detailed view and click on the Modify linked tasks button.
