After you’ve created a quote, you can send it to your client or share the quote link, as well as use the quote to create a project, tasks, and more.
This article will show you how to modify quotes, share them with your clients, and use them for further automations in Scoro.
We have separate articles covering the following:

1. Modifying a quote
To modify your quote at any point, open the quote and click the Modify button in the top right corner.
Every change made in the quote modify view and the estimation matrix view is automatically saved as a draft. To discard the changes you’ve made, click the Reset to last saved version.
If another user on your site is currently modifying the quote you’re viewing, you’ll see a banner with more details on who is editing the quote. Click Modify to see the drafted changes.
2. Sending out the quote
Before sending the quote to the client, preview the document by clicking the PDF button to confirm that everything looks just as needed. You can also easily switch between PDF templates and customize them according to your needs.
When you’re ready to share the quote with your client, you can do it in two ways:
2.1. Sending an email with the quote
To send the quote directly to the client from Scoro, click the Send button located at the bottom-right corner of the quote detailed view.
The recipient’s field is filled in automatically based on the information in the contact card.
If you’ve also filled in the quote e-mail templates in Scoro, the e-mail body will be prefilled as well - yet another tedious step automated! You can always modify the email message before sending it.
2.2. Sharing a quote link
You can also share a quote with your client via a link. This allows them to open the quote directly in the browser and use the accompanying chat box to give immediate feedback. Sharing quotes this way helps reduce the number of back-and-forth emails and keeps any discussions around the quote in a single, compact view.
Note! The quote sharing option in the quote detailed view is always available on your site and cannot be disabled.
Click the Share via link button to generate a unique link that gives your client access to the latest published version of the quote. Click the copy button next to the link to copy it to your clipboard and share it with your client.
The client can use the link to open the quote directly in the browser. The shared quote view displays the latest published version of the quote, along with a chat box that enables the client to confirm the price proposal or provide feedback conveniently. This makes communication more immediate and helps to shorten the quote closing cycle.
Note!
- The quote link is active for one year.
- The quote PDF accessible via the link will expire in 30 days; to refresh it, click the Share via link button in the quote detailed view and then click the Update PDF button.
As soon as the share link is generated, a separate thread will appear under the Comments section in the quote view. This thread will be synced with the chat in the shared quote view. Whenever the client comments on the quote, you will get notified in Scoro and see their message under this thread. You can track the whole conversation as well as reply to the client via this thread, without leaving Scoro.
Note! Only that specific thread is synced with the chat in the shared quote view. Comments outside of that thread are not visible to the client and can be seen only by relevant team members in Scoro.
Any changes you make to the quote won’t be shared with the client until you decide to update the PDF in the shared view. To do that, click the Share via link, then click on Update PDF. The client will see the updates after refreshing their view.
If you no longer wish to share the quote, click the Stop sharing button. Scoro will also stop syncing the comment thread with the chat until you decide to share the quote again.
You can also automate the process further by adding the quote link to your email template or email footer. This way, Scoro will generate the link automatically for you every time and include it in the e-mail accordingly.
Option 1: add the quote link into the e-mail template
- Go to Settings > My settings > E-mail and scroll down to the Quote e-mail template.
- Choose where you want to place the link in the e-mail. Insert a dynamic field: Quote + Public quote link. Scoro will add the respective placeholder into your template.
- Save the changes.
Now, whenever you send out a quote from Scoro, Scoro will automatically generate the share link for you and insert it into your email. The placeholder will be replaced with the hyperlink Open the quote in the browser. This text cannot be customized.
Option 2: include the quote link in the e-mail footer
If you enable the Add the quote link into e-mail footer toggle before sending out the quote, Scoro will generate the share link for you and include it in the email footer. This way, you don’t have to create and copy the link manually, but you can still give the client the option to access and comment on the quote from the browser.
Here’s how the link looks in the email message:
3. Tracking active quotes
You can keep track of all your active quotes in the Pipeline module. It shows you the number of quotes you have issued and are actively working on, as well as how many deals are in each stage of the sales process.

6. Frequently asked questions
Can you change the quote author for multiple quotes at once?
Deactivating a user's account doesn't automatically remove their ownership from quotes – they will still be listed as the quote author. If someone has left your company and you need to change the author for all their quotes to another team member, you can easily do this at once for all quotes from the quotes list:
- In the quote list view, select the deactivated user in the Users filter
- Tick the checkbox to select all their quotes - an additional bar with bulk commands will appear
- Choose the new quote author from the Change author dropdown field in the bulk command bar.
